Simera Sense and Spacemanic to Collaborate on a New Complete Dual-Use Mission Solution

Czech company Spacemanic and Belgian optical leader Simera Sense are teaming up to deliver a new dual-use satellite solution that can compete with bigger and heavier satellites. Simera Sense xScape200 Dual-Use (DU) camera is integrated into Spacemanic 16U CubeSat platform, bringing high-resolution imaging capabilities to a lightweight, compact spacecraft designed for repeatable deployment and constellation growth.

The xScape200 DU combines a compact 12U form factor, low SWaP, and standardised integration to give commercial and defence organisations high-resolution, dual-use imaging capabilities without the need for a larger spacecraft, increased launch costs, or power-intensive mission architectures.

Spacemanic designs and builds its satellite platforms, core subsystems and deployers in-house. Owning the whole chain lets the company shape the satellite around the camera instead of forcing the camera into a standard form factor. That covers the satellite’s structure and envelope, its mechanical, electrical, thermal and data interfaces, and how the satellite integrates with the deployer.

The SPACE CANNON deployer accommodates CubeSats up to 16U, with an expanded integration envelope for payloads with protruding elements on the sides and a tuna can at the bottom. This additional space supports larger payload configurations such as the xScape200 DU camera. Removable side panels on all four sides provide direct access to the satellite after integration, enabling final adjustments right before launch. SPACE CANNON is designed for integration with launch vehicles including  Falcon 9, Ariane 6, Vega-C, HyImpulse SL1, InnoSpace Hanbit, Spectrum by Isar Aerospace, RFA ONE and HyPrSpace Baguette One.

Together, the camera, tailored platform and deployer form a complete mission solution that simplifies the path from payload integration to launch. Beyond the technical development, Spacemanic and Simera are shaping the future of the commercial and dual use market.
